Your finished piece will be one-of-a-kind, no two ever emerge from the kiln looking the same. The world of Mosaic styles, materials and projects is vast. We know ourselves how some Mosaic pieces take longer than others, or maybe we just want to spend all day on them to enjoy the process. If you would like to spend the day with us, we include our usual homemade lunch as well as all the cake & refreshments you can squeeze in while you work. You may choose to keep cutting and placing tiles onto your project until the last minute, or use the longer day to completely finish your piece and grout your mosaic while in the studio - it's up to you and you can decide on the day. You will learn how to create using the 'Direct Method' of Mosaic onto an MDF board. Using a 20cmx 20cm base you can create a mosaic suitable to be your door plaque, a trivet in your kitchen or maybe a stunning piece of wall art for your home. If you somehow complete that project you are welcome to make additional pieces It is worth thinking about what you would like to create: an animal, a pattern or perhaps a house number? As always, Pinterest is a wonderful place to investigate as well as our images on this site. Escape the hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in the calming art of slow stitching in this relaxing half-day workshop. Perfect for complete beginners and those with some stitching experience, this creative session is an opportunity to explore beautiful embroidery techniques using threads, sequins and beads to create your own personalised embroidered hoop initial. Guided by textile artist Kerry, you'll learn how to transfer a design onto fabric before discovering a selection of decorative embroidery stitches and embellishment techniques. You’ll then begin stitching your own unique design, creating a beautiful piece of textile art to take home. Set in tranquil surroundings, this workshop offers the chance to slow down, switch off from everyday life, and enjoy the mindful, therapeutic process of hand-stitching. All materials are included, and you'll leave with your finished embroidery hoop along with the skills and inspiration to continue your stitching journey. Gather together in the magical Larkswold creative space and weave your own hand broom in this intimate 3 hour workshop! Guests will choose their broom shape, fibre colour and style and then tie it all up with the twine colour of your choice. You will leave with a beautiful broom that actually cleans. You will learn the fundamentals of heritage handcrafted brooms (a pre-industrial heritage craft that uses no machinery and no electricity), as well as the processing and handling of fibre, various twine types, plus some broom history and lore. These pretty brooms are perfect for smaller spaces: potting sheds, artist studios, kitchen counters, camper vans, hearths, and book shelves - keep any small space tidy and looking lush! A broom made by you to last a lifetime and beyond. Recent Workshop Feedback: "Brilliant, enthusiastic tutor. Was thrilled to create a really beautiful broom." "I thought it was a great half day, and the tutor made a real effort to thoroughly teach the basics. She couldn't have done better." Please note: broom making is a surprisingly physical craft and each broom is constructed in one sitting with one continuous length of twine. Students should be prepared to work with shoes off (socks are fine) and seated in a chair for up to an hour, possibly more (feel free to bring a cushion).. Broom craft requires strength and dexterity in both hands and feet. Be prepared to engage your core, hands, arms, legs and back for extended periods. Broom making can be a real work-out! Let your mind unwind and your creative style flow during this 3 hour ceramic decorating workshop. During this custom-made session, you will be guided through the pattern desig of your platter. You may apply your own style and use a paper printing technique or if you prefer, we will supply stencils of beautiful designs ready to go. This will be followed by exploring the underglazes with painting, sponging & brush stroke techniques. Throughout the workshop you will be guided step by step on how to build your pattern and colour choices. This beautiful statement piece is sure to be centre stage of any Christmas table, just imagine a stack of warm mince pies adorning your hand-decorated platter! All the materials you will need are included, however if you have some fine paintbrushes you are particularly partial to, please do bring them along. Your finished creation will be left with us at the end of the session so that it can be clear glazed and fired to make it long-lasting and food safe - which usually takes 2-3 weeks, so definitely ready before Christmas! A bit more detail… In this workshop you'll learn how to use organic watercolour techniques and decorative embellishments to create landscape designs inspired by nature in your choice of colour palette. You'll learn various watercolour techniques and decorative ideas to help you create your very own, unique piece that combines watercolour, ink details, and accents of metallics. You’ll use inspiration from the nature and Kate’s own portfolio of abstract landscape designs and patterns. All materials will be provided but please feel free to bring your own favourite materials or brushes if you wish. This class is suitable for total beginners through to experienced artists. Kate Rebecca Leach is an artist and illustrator based in Hertfordshire. Her original artwork and high quality Giclée prints feature creative watercolour techniques and embellished metallic details. Kate founded her business, Essoldo Design, in August 2020 and has sold pieces to over 30 countries across the globe and has successfully licensed her work in the UK, Europe and the USA. Her first book Creative Abstract Watercolour, was published in Spring 2024, shortly followed by her 2nd book Creative Abstract Mixed Media in 2025.
