Whether you are totally new to cyanotypes or have tried them before, this relaxed session is designed to inform, inspire and encourage playful exploration. Taking paper collage to another level, this therapeutic and creative workshop is hosted by the rather clever local artist Penny Lindner. Penny uses old magazines to create the most beautiful collaged pieces. Create a unique piece of art in the form of a Christmas bauble collage in this crafty workshop. With scope to make your bauble design as groovy or traditional as you choose, you’ll upcycle paper from magazines, art prints and wrapping paper offcuts to build your collage. When finished, Penny will give you guidance on photographing, editing, and then uploading to order multiple printed cards online. No experience necessary. All materials provided. Bring your phone or iPad so Penny can assist with ordering your cards. Penny says, 'I made a conscious decision to reuse existing materials for my artwork in recent years. Colour magazines and newspaper provide the ideal medium to create collages that not only interpret my vision but also demonstrate I could achieve depth and texture with torn paper applied with a water-based glue.' Suitable for all ages (11 upwards) and abilities, this is a brilliant craft and easy to continue at home. During this three-hour workshop Robyn will guide you through the art of slab building using templates to handcraft your very own unique house. Come and enjoy the cosy Larkswold studio set in the Cotswolds countryside. This tranquil and inspiring location provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing journey into the world of clay crafting. The workshop begins with a warm welcome with drinks and homemade cakes and an introduction to the craft. You'll explore our example pieces and their various designs, sparking your creativity and helping you envision your own unique piece. Using a carefully designed template, you'll cut and assemble your house lanterns with gentle guidance on how to use some important tools and practices. This process allows for personal touches, letting you create doors, windows, and intricate details that make each lantern one-of-a-kind. Your creations will be fired and glazed in a beautiful speckled white finish. Your finished glowing lantern will make an enchanting addition to your home or a thoughtful handmade gift. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced potters, and all materials and tools will be provided. Lanterns will take around 3-4 weeks to dry, be bisque and glaze-fired.

We're delighted Lou from Paper Panda has decided to pick up her scalpel again and is joining us in the studio to show you how to papercut like a pro! This class will feature a short introduction to papercutting to make sure you are comfortable using a knife. From there you will cut out a personalised portrait from a template I’ve drawn using your photograph (supplied in advance). You’ll then spray it black with the additional option to frame it if you choose. For those of you who have completed one of my classes before, I can create a slightly trickier template if you wish (see last photo). No drawing skills are needed. If you can follow a line with a pen using some pressure then you’ll be able to do this. Please take a photo with the camera directly opposite the face against a light coloured wall in daylight, like the examples, ideally at least three weeks before the class. If it's within that time just drop us an email first to check we can accommodate you. Watch as your tutor guides you through the process of making four scented candles each in this 3 hour session. Blend your own essential oil or choose one of our tried and tested combinations. Select the perfect colours & have a go at a fun marbling technique should you wish! Using Parasoy wax you will follow the journey from weighing out the correct amount of wax, heating it to the correct temperature, blending your fragrance and adding colour to your candle if you wish. Add a label to each glass with the name of your candle and then once the candle has set you can add a little glitter or a few dried flowers to the top. Throughout the session your hot & cold drinks are included, as are a selection of delicious homemade cakes! Finish your workshop experience with a glass of bubbly (non-alcoholic options available) and leave with your four candles. You’ll be glowing with pride after you have made your candles and ready to continue celebrating!

Get started with this introduction to Block Printing in this 1.5hr workshop. You will be able to print a tote bag or tea towel with the help of the friendly tutors at Larkswold We’ll bring everything to you. You’ll experiment with block printing on scrap fabric to get a feel of the process before moving on to your chosen item – either a tote bag or a tea towel. You’ll be able to choose your colours, layouts and patterns to make the perfect unique memento to take home. Saturday 3rd October

Learn about glass fusing whilst making your own unique pieces. Your tutor Caroline Craven will guide you through the process and lead you through the steps to creating your unique pieces. During the 3 hour session you will have time to design your glassware, or take inspiration from Caroline's own range. Your designs can be fired flat for use as coasters, slumped into little bowls, or hung with hanging rings so you can hang your art piece or frame it. Colourful, creative and completely addictive - Glass Fusing is one of our favourite workshops and is suitable for all levels of creativity! Your glass items will require kiln firing and if posting is required, there is an additional cost to cover postage and packing. Glass will take around 14 days to be fired.

It's just one of those things you need to tick off the 'To Do List' - How to make your own bath bombs. Why? Because like candles, what's not to love about using essential oils, beautiful petals and rainbow colours? Knowing what is in our skincare is increasingly important so making your own is the perfect solution. You will leave with a set of bath bombs (and the metal casings so you can continue to make more at home!) good enough to gift... but will you be able to part with them!? Let your mind unwind and your creative style flow during this 3 hour Folk Art inspired ceramic decorating workshop.   During this custom-made session, you will be guided through the pattern designing of your platter. You may apply your own style, use block print stamps for inspiration or if you prefer, we will supply a stencil of a beautiful design ready to go. This will be followed by exploring the underglazes, choosing your colours and painting techniques. Throughout the workshop you will be guided step by step on how to build your pattern and colour with insightful personalised tuition. This beautiful statement piece is sure to be centre stage of any table and what a conversation starter it will become when you casually confess you made it yourself!   All the materials you will need are included, however if you have some fine paintbrushes you are particularly partial to, please bring them along. Your finished creation will be left with us at the end of the session so that it can be clear-glazed and fired to make it long-lasting and food safe. Saturday 25th July 10-1pm Resin Seascape - Local Resin expert Lou will guide you every step of the way, sharing insider tips and techniques to create stunning seascapes, including the ever-popular lacing effects that bring waves to life. Starting with a coaster, as you gain confidence you'll create increasingly larger pieces. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your resin skills or simply reconnect with your creativity, this workshop is the perfect place to bloom. Your pieces require time to fully set and will be ready to collect the next day. 1pm You'll enjoy a home-cooked lunch, shared around our large tables. Still room for more? We've got you covered with our cake selection! 2-5pm Block Printing. Spend the afternoon immersed in beautifully carved Indian blocks & rainbow colours.
