Books, Films & Chickens!

The sun is shining and everything feels infinitely more lovely. I really do love the sunshine and enjoyed getting out in to the garden to give the chicken coup a little clean and to rearrange the 'furniture'. I am down to just three girls at the moment and so popped a little email over to the local egg farmer to see if they wanted to rehome any old girls or trouble-makers to bolster my numbers. No response yet - but hopefully I get up to 10 feathered friends before Easter.

Emma and I have been enjoying trialling a few crafty things this week such as lampshade painting and playing with different trims. Emma has also been making a beret from a shrunken cashmere jumper (I know - I worry about her too) and I'm excited to try a little Kinsugi today.
It's been another busy week with workshops dotted throughout the week. But we have a surprise Sunday off as our silversmither is not well and we have had to postpone the session. So I am looking for Sunday lunch in a pub recommendations - If you have one for me do drop it in the comments below.
What else?
When guests come to the studio we love to get recommendations on things to watch, where to go and what to read. I thought I might share a few of those with you this week.
Something to watch?

'I Swear' is a compassionate, clear-eyed portrait of the life of Tourette's activist John Davidson. It sidesteps clichés, focusing on identity, dignity, and the real work of advocacy.

'BlackBerry' tells the story of Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, the two men who charted the course of the spectacular rise and catastrophic demise of the world's first smartphone.

The history of the game-changing partnership between a then-undiscovered Michael Jordan and Nike's fledgling basketball division, which revolutionised the world of sports and culture with the Air Jordan brand.

Prefer something to read?
Well, I am currently working on 'To Kill A Mocking Bird'. I do have a bit of a penchant for the classics. You realise so many of them are still relevant today with messages that continue to resonate.

Emma is reading 'Raising Hare' by Chloe Dalton which I may have given her for her Birthday (aren't books great presents?) A beautifully written tale based on a true story of a woman who finds a newborn hare and raises it as best she can - it's a heart-warming book, totally captivating & perfect at this time of year!
Other than that I guess I will wish you a relaxing weekend.
Melinda
