Do you own a sewing machine but never got to grips with it? Or perhaps you'd like to get into sewing but don't know where to start? Then this is the perfect workshop for you! Pinky and her team from Remnant Revolution join us to demystify the sewing machine and get you sewing! Remnant Revolution transforms surplus and remnant fabrics into premium handcrafted homeware, creating flexible, fairly paid work for women while combining circular design, community skill-sharing and social impact to keep materials in use and empower women through fairly paid, meaningful employment. Through skilled workshops and creative partnerships, we give beautiful fabrics a new purpose and a new story to tell. Our team of seamstresses share their skills in our simple, relaxed sewing classes. In this 2 hour session you will learn the basics of using a sewing machine, from loading and filling a bobbin, to choosing simple stitches and adjusting the tension. You’ll then put your new skills into practice by making your own zip purse. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to build their confidence with a sewing machine. No sewing experience required Suitable for ages 12 + (accompanied by an adult) As with all Larkswold workshops, you'll be treated to plenty of freshly brewed teas & coffees, homemade cakes and a glass of bubbly to celebrate your achievements! Thursday 8th October 10-12pm Book the morning session or the afternoon session: 1-3pm 'Sew a piped cushion cover' or book both, and we'll throw in lunch for you in between!
