Felt Bowl Workshop

From wet wool to wonderful work of art!

Service Description

Creating a felt bowl is an amazing experience as you transform wool fibres into a three dimensional form, all by hand. We use the wet felting process which means that wool, warm soapy water and a bamboo blind are all that’s needed. Of course, you can unleash your creativity when it comes to the decorations – what colours will you choose? Spots or stripes help to create an effective design. This is a full day workshop from 10am to 4pm to ensure there is plenty of time for a relaxing session. During the session you will be guided through the felting process, the handling of the wool fibres, and use of a resist to create your own unique 3D bowl. We will have a number of sample bowls available to help inspire you and our experienced tutor will ensure you have lots of fun. Attendance numbers are kept small to ensure you are given one-on-one time and attention to explore your creativity, so by the end of your session, you will not only have learnt a new skill but have completed your handmade bowl. What’s included A waterproof apron will be provided along with a zip seal plastic bag to transport your (wet) work home. A range of coloured wool fibres are available to make your bowl. All other materials and pieces of equipment needed for wet felting one bowl will be provided. You will have your own set of Felt Bowl Making Notes which are yours to keep. In case you are really fired up and want to make another bowl when you get home, extra fibres can be bought at the end of the session. Don't forget you will need to squeeze in slices of all our delicious cakes as well as a homemade lunch, plus coffee from our wonderful bean to cup coffee machine and maybe a little glass of bubbly before you leave us for the day.
